Kent Island Federation of Arts (KIFA) is celebrating 60 years of promoting and exhibiting art in Queen Anne’s County this year and The Working Artists Forum is honored to be a part of this celebration. The WAF will be exhibiting throughout the entire downstairs gallery. There is no theme.

Judging:  Brad Ross* will be the judge and there will be 4 “Judge’s Awards of Excellence” worth $150 each as well as a “People’s Choice” Award at the end of the exhibit given by KIFA.
 
*Brad Ross studied Visual Communications/Illustration at Montgomery College, in Rockville and then at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore where he graduated with a BFA in 1991.   Between 1994 and 1995 he took evening and summer classes at the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore. Over the years he has gained priceless drawing and painting knowledge, learning from nationally and internationally known artists like Carolyn Anderson, Tim Bell, George Strickland,  Abigail McBride and Teresa Oaxaca, as well as through three decades of independent study and research.

He is an award winning Plein Air painter and popular drawing and painting instructor at the Academy Art Museum.

Exhibit: April 6 – May 8, 2023

Entry fee: $35
Delivery and Installation: Monday, April 3rd, 2-6PM
Exhibit Opening Reception: Thursday, April 13, 5-7 p.m. Request artists bring finger food for the reception
Pickup Work: May 8th, 10AM-2PM

Sales Commission: 30%

To Participate:

  • By entering, you are allowing WAF and KIFA to use your painting(s) for publicity purposes.
  • Artists may bring one 16”x20” or two smaller pieces to hang in the show.
  • Artists may drop off work on Monday, April 3rd from 2-6 p.m. and take down their work Monday, May 8th, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. You may have someone else drop off and pick up your work and do not need to stay the entire time.
  • Working Artists Forum will charge a $35 entry fee per artist.
  • KIFA will take a 30% commission on any sales and will take care of taxes.
  • All work must be professionally framed (no saw tooth hangars) and prepared for hanging.
  • Artwork will be labeled on the back with Name of Artist, Title of Piece, Medium, and Price.
  • Artists are allowed to bring two shrink wrapped pieces each, also labeled, to display in racks as well as up to three packs of notecards for display.
  • You accept that neither WAF nor KIFA are responsible for loss or damage of your artwork and unsold work will remain on display through Sunday, May 7th. If a painting sells to someone from out of town, KIFA may notify artist if they wish to replace it with another painting. KIFA will make every effort to ensure that the work will be safeguarded.
