Patty Forbes Mowell was raised in Baltimore County, among a family of artists. Her grandfather was a painter, her grandmother a sculptor, and numerous other family members who painted in watercolor and oils, and carved. Patty graduated in 1978 with a B.A. degree in Art from Lycoming College, and studied both Art and Photography. In 1979 she moved to Chestertown and joined the Chestertown Arts League. In 2013 she was juried into the Working Artist’s Forum, and was show chair coordinator for the next 2 years. Patty is also a member of the Art League Of Ocean City.
