In 1991, Diane moved to Secretary, MD to work as a scientist at Horn Point Laboratory, in Cambridge, MD. The rural landscapes and exploring the local rivers, marshes, and bays in small boats on the Eastern Shore inspired her to get serious about painting. She is a landscape painter that works in the studio from photographs and sketches and outside directly from nature. Diane switches back and forth between oil and watercolor and enjoys both media. She is a member of the Plein Air Painters of the Chesapeake Bay. Her paintings have been exhibited in juried shows and plein air exhibitions as well as in Main Street Gallery in Cambridge, MD.
