An artist since childhood, Janet DiNapoli studied drawing, traditional stone and wood carving and oil painting while a health care professional living and working in New York City. Her painting style evolved after experimenting with collage, in combination with oils. Her goal is to create harmonious, flowing abstracts, with textures and shapes that remind us of the complexities of nature. She often uses reflective surfaces to create a vibrancy in her paintings. Her scientific training has taught her to consider each new piece as an experiment in creating balance and harmony within the confines of a blank canvas.
